What Does An MOT Include?

The Ministry of Transport (MOT) test covers a variety of vehicle safety checks, including lights, tyres, seatbelts and emissions among others. All vehicles older than three years are required by law to pass an annual MOT test as defined by the Road Traffic Act of 1988. Exceptions to the rule include electric vehicles and any car, bike, van or motorbike older than 40 years that have not been significantly modified.

Examiners only inspect the vehicle for faults and cannot make any repairs which means you still need to book a service. They will check the exterior, interior, under the bonnet and underneath the vehicle including:
